Alyssa Kay, the twenty year-old singer/songwriter from Frisco, TX has been defining her own sound in country/pop roots and building her music from the ground up since she was ten years old. Since moving to Nashville in August of 2022, Alyssa has chased down more than just the perfect song.
As an artist, Alyssa performs publicly in the Nashville and DFW areas, including the iconic Listening Room Cafe right in the heart of Nashville. Alyssa has been interviewed as a featured artist for “The Country Belles UK” internet-radio show, 95.9 KRFF's “This Side Of Country”, “Country Live Sessions”, and Acey K’s “Spotlight Series” podcast. Alyssa's music has been heard on radio in the U.S. including WEFT 90.1FM in Champaign, IL, and 95.9 KRFF in Fargo, North Dakota. Vocally, Alyssa had the opportunity to join Alana Springsteen for gang vocals on the title track of Alana’s debut album; "TWENTY SOMETHING”.
Now on her third and most recent release, “DUMP HIM”, Alyssa is taking listeners to a whole new level. From her debut single, “Kiss on You” offering that classic country/pop hook, to sounds of rock in “All Your Friends Hate Me”, her music is versatile, catchy and meaningful! As a writer, most of Alyssa’s releases feature solely her own pen-to-paper ideas in the country/pop genre, however, she also writes in genres across the board; including R&B, Christian, and indie pop.
In sharing the most personal experiences, emotions, and truths, Alyssa is connecting with others who may feel the same, while also displaying different sides of her own personality. Her songwriting draws the attention and sparks the memory of those who know her or anyone who is looking to feel understood. Alyssa uses her music to express her thoughts and feelings saying, “We all have good and bad days, so as an artist my main goal is to make my music something that makes the bad ones easier, and the good ones even better”, allowing herself to be vulnerable in her lyrics and her style.
Alyssa is currently a student at Belmont University in the Songwriting department, but amongst her studies has most recently been in the studio honing in on her craft and recording new music that she plans to release soon. And it doesn't stop there! This young artist understands the kind of hard work, grit, and vulnerability that goes into this industry. She shares, “This music I'm gearing up to release is something I’m very proud of because it feels so relevant to the stage of life that I’m currently in — fun, free-lived, emotional, and a little bit confusing, but most of all a compelling state of self-discovery in both who I am as a person, and as an artist, and I'm ecstatic for my listeners to get a glimpse into my life!”
